Gary Ablett clear Brownlow Medal 2013 favourite

It’s only the half way mark of the season but already Gary Ablett is almost odds on to win his second Brownlow, firming from $3.75 to $2.40 over the weekend with online bookmaker sportsbet.

Sydney’s Daniel Hannebery is now second favourite after firming from $14 to $9.00, while last year’s winner Jobe Watson has drifted from $7.00 to $10.

In other Suns betting news, they have firmed to make the top 8, but are still seen as an outside chance after coming in from $21 to $15. Amazingly, they started the season at big odds of $126 to play in their first ever finals series.

“There is still a long way to go but being near odds on at this stage of the season, you would think that only an injury would stop Ablett from claiming his second Brownlow!” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.

In Round 12 betting, Adelaide’s ordinary effort over the weekend has seen them drift from $2.40 to $3.25 against Richmond who are in from $1.53 to $1.33.

Unsurprisingly Sydney have been the biggest mover in the premiership market, in from $6.00 to $4.75. Hawthorn remain favourites at $3.45 with Geelong also in the hunt at $4.00.
