The Western Bulldogs will travel to Fremantle on Sunday afternoon riding a wave of momentum, despite being without several key players. They improved to 2-1 on the season with a hard-fought 83-75 victory over Carlton last Friday, achieved without the likes of Marcus Bontempelli, Adam Treloar, Cody Weightman, and Jamarra Ugle-Hagan—all of whom remain sidelined this week.
Fremantle, meanwhile, notched their first win of the 2025 season with a convincing 106-68 triumph over West Coast. However, the result has done little to relieve the growing pressure on head coach Justin Longmuir.
Last year, these two sides split their meetings. The Dockers took the first clash at Optus Stadium with a 95-71 win, led by Caleb Serong’s standout performance of 37 disposals and 17 clearances. The Bulldogs hit back later in the season with a commanding 149-82 victory at Marvel Stadium, driven by a masterclass from Bontempelli, who tallied 30 disposals, 15 score involvements, and three goals.
Despite missing several stars, the Bulldogs will be eager to maintain their strong start and continue building early-season momentum.
