Essendon AFL player stabbed, two arrested

Essendon AFL footballer Nathan Lovett-Murray has been stabbed in a domestic dispute in Melbourne.

Lovett-Murray, 30, is being treated in Royal Melbourne Hospital for a stab wound to the arm.

A 22-year-old man and 17-year-old boy have been arrested and are being interviewed by police.

The incident happened at a house in suburban Reservoir just after 10pm (AEST) on Tuesday.

The midfielder has played 143 games for the Bombers since making his senior debut in 2004.

Essendon chief executive Ian Robson will speak about the incident at a media conference at 0945 AEST at the club’s Windy Hill headquarters.
