Eagles thrash Dees to book AFL grand final

A rampant West Coast have stormed their way into a grand final meeting with Collingwood, thrashing Melbourne by 66 points in Saturday’s AFL preliminary final at Optus Stadium.

In a nightmare ending to a stellar season, the Demons were held goalless in the first half, with the dominant Eagles running out 18.13 (121) to 7.13 (55) winners in front of a record crowd of 59,608 fans.

Josh Kennedy booted four goals and Jack Darling, Jamie Cripps and Mark LeCras added three each to send the Eagles into next Saturday’s grand final against the Magpies.
