Eagles star sidelined by hamstring injury

West Coast have confirmed they will be without gun midfielder Luke Shuey for up to three AFL games as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

Shuey injured his right hamstring just minutes into the Eagles’ 42-point win over Port Adelaide at Optus Stadium on Saturday.

“The doctors have confirmed it is definitely a strain on the scan,” Eagles football boss Craig Vozzo said.

“He’ll miss two, possibly three weeks.”

Shuey will definitely miss an away clash against Greater Western Sydney, a home game against Richmond and possibly a road trip to face Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium.

In other injury news, Lewis Jetta and Dom Sheed are still a week away with their respective calf and foot injuries.

“With Jetts, we’re probably going to be a little bit more conservative this time given that he had a recurrence previously,” Vozzo said.

“It’ll hopefully be another week and we’ll hopefully be in a position to look at him for selection next week.

“Dominic’s making really good progress … he’s started his on-track work and slowly building that up.

“He’ll probably be another week, possibly two, but we’re hoping (for) next week.”

Ruckman Nathan Vardy is still a fortnight away after aggravating an adductor in his return to football with East Perth.
