Eagles set to recall gun AFL midfielders

West Coast are set to receive a triple boost for Sunday’s AFL match against premiers Sydney at Patersons Stadium, with key midfielders Daniel Kerr, Luke Shuey and Sharrod Wellingham all set to return.

Kerr has missed the past two games due to a rib injury, while Shuey has missed three weeks with a hamstring issue.

Eagles coach John Worsfold expects both players will be able to do enough at training this week to prove their fitness.

Wellingham, who has recovered from an ankle injury, is another key player ready to go after making it through two hit-outs in the WAFL reserves.

Veteran duo Adam Selwood and Sam Butler will also push their case for a recall after recovering from back injuries.

The Eagles sit a game adrift of eighth spot, while Sydney will be aiming to boost their chances of snaring a top-four berth.
