Eagles McGovern banned at AFL Tribunal

Star West Coast defender Jeremy McGovern will miss the Eagles’ clash with Hawthorn at the MCG after he was found guilty at the AFL Tribunal of rough conduct.

McGovern was offered a one-match ban by Match Review Officer Michael Christian after he bumped Essendon’s Matt Guelfi into the Optus Stadium boundary fence last round.

Guelfi suffered rib damage and was concussed in the collision and the jury found McGovern guilty after deliberating for 10 minutes at Tuesday night’s Tribunal hearing at AFL House in Melbourne.
