Demons Jamar set to sign new AFL deal

Melbourne ruckman Mark Jamar is poised to sign a long-term AFL deal that will make him remain a Demon for life.

The 28-year-old said after training on Wednesday that talks between the club and his management were underway and he hoped to have his future finalised in the near future.

“I’m a Melbourne player and that’s where I want to play the rest of my footy,” Jamar said.

“It will be good to be a one-club player so hopefully they can work that out.”

Meanwhile, Cale Morton will miss the opening two rounds of the NAB Cup with a knee injury.

Morton sustained a slight medial ligament strain in an accident in his backyard on Saturday afternoon.

The Demons’ NAB Cup first round is against the Gold Coast Suns and Brisbane Lions at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.
