Patrick Dangerfield’s hopes of winning a second Brownlow Medal have been dealt a blow, with the AFL match review panel offering him a one-match ban.

The MRP on Monday handed down the sanction for the Geelong star’s tackle on Carlton ruckman Matthew Kreuzer in Saturday night’s clash at Etihad Stadium.

Dangerfield was charged with rough conduct after he pinned Kreuzer’s arms and dumped the ruckman head first into the turf during the third quarter.
