Sam Kerridge’s six-goal haul in Adelaide’s one-point win over North Melbourne has earned the youngster the round nine AFL Rising Star nomination.
The 20-year-old inspired the Crows’ nailbiting victory at Etihad Stadium on Sunday, booting three goals in the final term and collecting 24 possessions.
Kerridge, who made his AFL debut in 2012 with just one appearance, has played six games for the Crows this year.
Coach Brenton Sanderson praised Kerridge’s leadership and versatility.
“He’s played a variety of different roles for us, including important defensive jobs on some of the competition’s best players,” Sanderson said.
“He’s really relished those challenges and has also been able to hit the scoreboard consistently through his hard running and strong work ethic.”
Kerridge was drafted to Adelaide with the Crows’ first pick in the 2011 AFL Draft.
