Adelaide midfielder David Mackay has been slapped with a one-match ban for his forceful front-on hit on GWS tagger Matt de Boer.

The incident was assessed as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact, drawing a one-match suspension.

If Mackay accepts the ban, he’ll miss Sunday’s clash with Carlton at Metricon Stadium.

His teammate Kyle Hartigan can escape with a $750 fine with an early plea for striking GWS forward Jeremy Cameron.
