Preview:
Collingwood and St. Kilda kick off round 6 with the Pies short priced favourites to bounce back from the Anzac Day defeat against Essendon.
After leading narrowly in the first quarter, the Pies were always playing catch-up as the Bombers continued to build on their lead through the second and third quarter before running out comprehensive victors by 46 points.
That was the second defeat in the past three weeks (the other against Hawthorn) for Collingwood and they are currently in eighth position on the ladder with a 3-2 record.
Saints sit in fourteenth spot with only one win from their five matches to date but they did show some good improvement last week against Sydney. They led early in the second quarter and showed good fight late, before succumbing to the Premiers by 16 points.
They also introduced several new faces with some senior players out and there was enough for Coach Watters to build on this week.
Looking at the stats of each club this season, there doesn’t appear to be a lot between and Saints even have a superior defensive record but, Collingwood have clearly had the better of St. Kilda in recent clashes and haven’t been beaten by the Saints since Round 3, 2010.
Would expect Collingwood to be keen to bounce back after last week and enhance that record here.

‘Pies make five changes in AFL
Collingwood have regained key players Darren Jolly and Andrew Krakouer among five changes for Friday night’s crunch AFL match against St Kilda.
Saints small forward Stephen Milne also returns from his one-game suspension.
This will be Krakouer’s first senior game of the season, while a rib injury has sidelined Jolly since round two.
The injury-plagued Magpies named Ben Kennedy and Jarrod Witts for their senior debuts and also recalled Josh Thomas.
They lost defender Alan Toovey for the rest of the season with a knee reconstruction and ruckman Ben Hudson has leg soreness.
Collingwood also reacted to the Anzac Day loss to Essendon by dropping Jordan Russell, Alex Fasolo and Ben Sinclair.
The Saints lost Tom Lee with an Achilles injury and omitted Trent Dennis-Lane, with Arryn Siposs the other inclusion for the Etihad Stadium match.
Hawthorn regained midfielder Brad Sewell from a hamstring injury for Saturday’s away game against Adelaide, who recalled Jason Porplyzia among three changes.
Geelong stars Tom Hawkins and Paul Chapman are set to return from injury for Saturday night’s game at the MCG against Richmond.
Essendon lost in-form defender Jake Carlisle (foot) and midfielder Dyson Heppell (groin) for Saturday’s Etihad Stadium match against Greater Western Sydney.
Jason Winderlich was rested and Travis Colyer is out of the side.
They regained Nick Kommer from suspension and also included Leroy Jetta, Tayte Pears and Jake Melksham.
The Giants made a massive seven changes, losing Setanta O’hAilpin (calf), Phil Davis (back) and Lachie Whitfield (soreness) while naming Aidan Corr for his AFL debut.
