Collingwood and St. Kilda kick off round 6 with the Pies short priced favourites to bounce back from the Anzac Day defeat against Essendon. After leading narrowly in the first quarter, the Pies were always playing catch-up as the Bombers continued to build on their lead through the second and third quarter before running out comprehensive victors by 46 points.

That was the second defeat in the past three weeks (the other against Hawthorn) for Collingwood and they are currently in eighth position on the ladder with a 3-2 record.

Saints sit in fourteenth spot with only one win from their five matches to date but they did show some good improvement last week against Sydney. They led early in the second quarter and showed good fight late, before succumbing to the Premiers by 16 points.

They also introduced several new faces with some senior players out and there was enough for Coach Watters to build on this week.

Looking at the stats of each club this season, there doesn’t appear to be a lot between and Saints even have a superior defensive record but, Collingwood have clearly had the better of St. Kilda in recent clashes and haven’t been beaten by the Saints since Round 3, 2010.

Would expect Collingwood to be keen to bounce back after last week and enhance that record here.
