Geelong star Steve Johnson could be suspended for the second time this AFL season after his heavy bump on Brisbane utility Pearce Hanley.
Johnson caught Hanley high in the first term of Sunday’s match at the Gabba and the Irishman went to ground holding his head.
Hanley was forced from the field, but returned in the second term.
The incident is certain to come under match review panel scrutiny.
Johnson missed the round-one win over Hawthorn after he hit Fremantle’s Hayden Ballantyne in a pre-season game.
Melbourne ruckman Jake Spencer is already on report for his front-on contact with St Kilda opponent Ben McEvoy during Saturday night’s MCG match.
McEvoy had to leave the field with a head injury after the collision.
Saints defender Tom Simpkin was caught on camera striking Chris Dawes, but the Melbourne forward might also come under scrutiny for arguably trying to milk the incident.
Dawes went to ground after Simpkin hit the solidly-built player to the chest.
West Coast veteran Andrew Embley appears certain to be suspended following his incident with Hawthorn defender Ben Stratton during Friday night’s match at Etihad Stadium.
Embley dropped his knees onto Stratton’s chest as the Hawks player lay on the ground.
Stratton later made light of the contact, saying he was not hurt and it fired him up.
“It was a bit of fun – he just dropped the knee from about five foot up, right in the sternum,” Stratton said.
