The traditional Round 1 clash between the Blues and Tigers sees both teams take a similar path back to Victoria.

Carlton fought back from the brink last week to down Brisbane in an instant classic at the Gabba, losing a key solider in the process with Sam Docherty suffering another heartbreaking knee injury.

The Tigers had their doors blown off at the hands of the Suns, fighting back in the third quarter to eventually lose by a more respectable 39 point margin in the end.

Docherty’s absence can’t be overstated, but it’s hard to get on board with a Richmond outfit that was smashed around the clearances on their way to giving up 61 inside 50 entries to Gold Coast.

This should be somewhat of a “coming home” party for the Blues, and with their tails up and Harry McKay kicking with confidence, I think they’ll prove hard to beat.
