Carlton made it three wins on the trot last week with a comfortable 120 – 77 win over the Suns on the Gold Coast.
Each of these three wins had been against sides outside of the eight though and prior to this string of victories, Carlton lost four in a row – all against sides inside the eight.
This week, they face Fremanlte who sit fifth on the ladder, compared to Carlton’s ninth place one win behind eighth placed Port.
Fremantle, have only lost four games this year (Hawthorn, Geelong, Essendon and Richmond) and are coming off a 75 – 53 win against Adelaide last week.
They continue to go about their business in a very good style and, as they have done in previous encounters, will give Carlton plenty of opposition.
In fact these two sides have a recent history of close clashes with three of the past four clashes being decided by a margin of less than ten points.
Carlton may have had the opportunity to run themselves into some form over the past month but Fremantle’s record this year speaks for itself.
