Cameron confident Kelly will stay a Giant

Greater Western Sydney coach Leon Cameron is confident of retaining the services of young midfield ace Josh Kelly but disappointed all three of his AFL club’s mature age recruits are injured.

Cameron said negotiations with Kelly were going well and he wouldn’t be surprised if there was an announcement of a contract extension in the next month.

While he expects GWS to rebound strongly from last week’s opening round loss to Port Adelaide, Cameron revealed Tendai Mzungu would be out for two to three months with a hamstring injury, joining fellow former Fremantle player Matt de Boer and ex-Richmond star Brett Deledio on the injury list.
