Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley says former Magpies great Mick McGuane is off the mark with his criticism of Scott Pendlebury.

McGuane said earlier on Thursday that the Magpies should consider taking the AFL captaincy from Pendlebury as early as next year and giving it to Taylor Adams.

Buckley praised Pendlebury’s leadership and said while he respects McGuane’s opinions on football, he is wrong on this issue.
