AFL battlers Gold Coast look set to suffer another blow in an already-tough week, with coach Guy McKenna conceding hard man Campbell Brown might miss Saturday night’s home clash with North Melbourne.
Brown suffered a knee injury – and the Suns, plenty of dented pride – in their widely-panned 95-point last-round loss to St Kilda.
McKenna had major concerns for Brown after the former Hawthorn flag winner was restricted to jogging around Metricon Stadium on Friday.
“We’ll wait and see, but his training today, he certainly didn’t look free,” McKenna said.
“We’ll assess that and see how he pulls up tomorrow.
“Each day, he’s got slowly better but, looking at what he did do today, if that’s enough to convince the conditioning staff and footy staff, I’m not too sure.”
The Suns have lost 18 straight games – including 10 this year – but regarded their last-round shellacking as one of the club’s worst performances.
