Brisbane has come from the clouds to sit in the top four for the first time this year, and this is literally a Qualifying Final if you look at positions on the ladder.

The Swans bounced back against the Roos but will be hoping to show they’re still a level above the competition with a big win away at the Gabba.

The Lions fought out a tough win against the Eagles in Perth, which is never an easy feat with the long trip across Australia.

Sydney was at their best when the offensive pressure was intense from their midfield group, and with all their talent, they made it difficult to predict their forward moving patterns.

Brisbane continues to get Brownlow form Lachie Neale dominating in the middle around the contest and helped about by Hugh McLuggage, there’s almost a certainty about Brisbane’s dominance quarter-to-quarter.

Much like the Swans the Lions were able to share the footy around forward of centre with six multiple goal kickers.

Defensively the Swans have struggled to recoup themselves on transition at times, and the Lions must find a way to test them in transition on the smaller ground.

Sydney hasn’t won at the Gabba since 2021, but their last outing in 2023 was one of the Lions more competitive challenges, so they’re certainly capable.

The Lions could either establish themselves as a premiership favourite or fall back into the heap in the race for finals.

A lot on the line, but at the Swans best, they should be able to win.
