Preview:

The first game on Sunday is between two sides that have one win apiece this season and that will not reach great heights given the respective form of both sides.
Brisbane scrapped home against the Gold Coast Suns by two points in Round 3 in recording their win but they have suffered big losses to Western Bulldogs (68 points) and last week against North Melbourne (63 points).

The Demons needed all four quarters to put the GWS result to bed last week and finally crack it for a win but their previous three weeks saw them lose by an aggregate of 321 points!

Head to Head, Brisbane won both games last year but in season 2011 and will never have a better chance to put their sluggish start behind them and start his season again.

In saying that though, I don’t know if I’d trust them in their current form to cover the 36.5 point line.

Lions’ five changes for Demons AFL clash

Brisbane have dropped two players among five changes for Sunday’s must-win home AFL match against Melbourne.

The Lions axed Ryan Harwood and Niall McKeever in the wake of their 63-point loss to North Melbourne.

After winning the NAB Cup, Brisbane are struggling with a 1-3 record and badly need a win over the Demons.

They also lost top midfielder Daniel Rich with a shoulder injury, while Stefan Martin has a foot problem and Pearce Hanley has a one-game suspension.

James Polkinghorne, Aaron Cornelius, Billy Longer and Elliot Yeo are back in the side and Justin Clarke will make his senior debut.

Melbourne, who posted their first win last Sunday, left out young gun Jack Viney.

They listed him as being rested after the strong start to his AFL career.

They lost former Lion Mitch Clark with a foot injury and Neville Jetta is suspended.

David Rodan, Jordie McKenzie and Sam Blease will take their places.

Former Western Bulldogs star Brian Lake will make his Hawthorn debut in the Sunday twilight MCG match against North Melbourne, who are unchanged.

Lake is a straight swap for for Ryan Schoenmakers (knee) and Taylor Duryea’s corked thigh opens a spot for Brent Guerra.
