Brisbane Lions vs Greater Western Sydney Giants 2013 AFL Round 21 preview and tips

Big news from Brisbane on Tuesday with the announcement that favourite son and head coach Michael Voss, will not have his contract renewed for 2014 season.

Given the performances of the Lions in the second half of the season when compared to that of the first half, some might say his sacking as unfair.

It will spur the Lions on for their remaining matches of this season however, starting with the GWS this weekend – the first time the two sides have met.

GWS registered their first win of the season in round 19, defeating the equally struggling Melbourne Demons but were brought crashing back to earth last week in Perth with Fremantle handing them a 113 point hiding.

It’s another interstate trip for the GWS this weekend who have been given 62.5 points start.

The Lions are generally not a big scoring team and will be without key forward Jonathon Brown.

They have showed this year however that when they get on a roll, they can be unstoppable as Essendon, North and Geelong can testify and they’ll be out to make sure that the news from this week does not hinder their performance in any way, shape or form.

Expect a big performance and win from the Lions here.

TIP: BRISBANE -62.5
