Geelong coach Chris Scott looks set to make at least three changes this week as he continues to search for the AFL club’s best 22.

Daniel Menzel and Nakia Cockatoo both missed the Cats’ nail-biting win over Richmond on Sunday because of injuries, while Andrew Mackie was rested.

Scott noted the club was “really hopeful” that Menzel and Cockatoo would be fit to face Brisbane next Sunday.

“Given their form, one would think they would come back. Although that’s not a guarantee,” Scott said.

“But they’ve been good for us so far this year.”

Scott was full of praise for Scott Selwood, Josh Caddy and Rhys Stanley – who all lifted as the Cats kicked six consecutive goals in the final term to roll Richmond by four points.

The debate over the Cats’ first-choice team will continue ahead of the finals but Scott is more focused on their depth.

“Hopefully we’re in a position where we’ve got 28, 29 or 30 guys that we’re happy to pick,” he said.

“Then we’ve just got to look at the right balance for that week and make sure we pick guys that are in form, whether they’re 19 or 30.”

Harry Taylor suffered a hip injury at the MCG but the 200-gamer was able to play out the game.

“I think he’s Ok,” Scott said.
