Blues’ Robinson faces two-game AFL ban

Carlton utility Mitch Robinson faces a two-match AFL ban for striking Collingwood youngster Taylor Adams in Sunday night’s MCG clash.

Robinson’s existing record of 68.75 demerit points means that even if he takes the early plea, his penalty will stay at two games.

His punch to the head was graded as intentional, low impact and high contact.

Star Collingwood onballer Dayne Beams and Gold Coast defender Jarrod Harbrow can play in Saturday’s big match after their match review panel judgments.

Beams was cleared of his match-day report for striking Carlton opponent Ed Curnow.

Harbrow can accept a reprimand and 70.31 carryover points after also being reported during the game for striking Hawthorn forward Luke Breust.

Collingwood are sixth, one game and percentage outside the top four and one game ahead of the eighth-placed Suns ahead of their Gold Coast clash.

Richmond defender Steven Morris was booked for separate rough conduct offences against St Kilda pair Jack Steven and Sean Dempster in the first quarter of Saturday’s match.

If Morris accepts the two charges, he will have a one-game suspension.

Melbourne’s Neville Jetta will be out for one game if he takes the early plea for a rough conduct charge against Western Bulldogs youngster Fletcher Roberts.

Saints defender Jimmy Webster received two fines for a melee where three other players were also penalised.

Webster can take a $1800 fine for instigating the melee and another $1200 for melee involvement.

Richmond newcomer Anthony Miles and St Kilda’s Seb Ross can also accept $1200 melee fines, while Tigers star Dustin Martin is up for $2100 because it is his second offence.

Carlton star Dale Thomas was cleared of contact with Dane Swan.
