Armstrong, Addison, Nahas find AFL clubs

Collingwood have signed former Sydney and Adelaide AFL defender Tony Armstrong.

Greater Western Sydney have recruited former Western Bulldogs defensive forward Dylan Addison.

And North Melbourne are set to pounce on ex-Richmond small forward Robin Nahas.

All three are switching clubs as delisted free agents.

Armstrong, 24, has played a total of 29 AFL games over four seasons – two seasons with the Crows and two with the Swans.

“Tony is a lovely kick with either foot and a pacy defender we think can make a strong contribution,” Magpies list manager Derek Hine said.

His recruitment continues a busy off-season for the Magpies, who have also landed another former Swan Jesse White, Patrick Karnezis from Brisbane and Greater Western Sydney’s Taylor Adams.

Collingwood have also lost Heath Shaw to GWS, Dale Thomas to Carlton and Jackson Paine to the Lions.

Addison, 26, played 88 games over eight seasons with the Dogs, including 12 this year.

He adds further depth and strength to the Giants’ young list.

They had already added premiership players Shaw, ex-Sydney ruckman Shane Mumford and former Geelong backman Josh Hunt, and intend to snaffle Swans youngster Jed Lamb with pick No.1 in the pre-season draft.

The Kangaroos plan to complete the paper work on Friday to secure 25-year-old speedster Nahas, who kicked 100 goals in 83 games with Richmond.

He joins former St Kilda star Nick Dal Santo as an experienced North recruit.

Meanwhile, Carlton will rookie-list Irishman Ciaran Sheehan, a 22-year-old who impressed in the recent International Rules series against Australia’s Indigenous All-Stars.
