AFL’s Harvey to play on for 21st season

North Melbourne veteran Brent Harvey is on track to claim the all-time VFL/AFL games played record after signing a new one-year deal with the club for 2016.

The 37-year-old has played 403 matches for the Kangaroos and is equal second on the all-time list with Richmond legend Kevin Bartlett.

They are behind only Hawthorn great Michael Tuck who played 426 games.

Harvey will line up for his 21st season at the Kangaroos next year.

“Pretty stoked that I’ve signed for another year,” said Harvey on Thursday.

“I’m very, very happy to put pen to paper and be at the Kangaroos for another season.

“I’ve been here for a while haven’t I – part of the furniture now.”
