AFL to look at tweak of third-man up rule

The AFL will consider a change to its controversial new rule banning the third player up at ruck contests.

Umpires boss Peter Schwab said on Monday they are seeking club feedback after players unwittingly gave away free kicks when the ball hit them at boundary throw-ins.

As the new rule stands, player other than the two ruckmen can touch the ball in a ball up or throw in until it hits the ground.
