AFL Round 18 Odds and Betting Preview – 2021

Loyal Richmond fans have access to a rare treat tomorrow night with the Tigers set to start better than even money at the MCG for just the third time since the 2017 Grand Final.

The Tigers have been $2.50 out to $2.70 against the Brisbane Lions ($1.48), their second-longest price for a match at their home ground since the start of their premiership run.

The only time they have been bigger outsiders in that time was Rd 12, 2019, when thumped by Geelong as a $2.90 chance, while Rd 7 this year – when they upset the Bulldogs at $2.50 – was the only other time they’ve been black figures.

One of Richmond’s fellow MCG tenants, Melbourne, is TAB’s new outright flag favourite after one punter had $1000 on the Demons to win the flag at $5 and another had $12,000 on them to make the Grand Final at an average price of $2.40.

Melbourne is now $2.30 to make the Grand Final and $4.75 to win the flag, shading Geelong and the Bulldogs – both $5 – for favouritism.

Rd 18 starts tonight with Fremantle into $2.00, after starting the week $2.50, against Geelong, which has been $1.53 out to $1.80.
