Richmond v Carlton

The money keeps coming for the Tigers who have firmed into $1.53. Up until a week ago, the Blues ($2.55) had been the best backed team, but there is now more than double the money on Richmond.
Sydney v Essendon

The Bombers will field a full strength team but punters don’t care, with triple the money bet on the Swans at $1.30. Essendon have drifted out from $3.40 to $3.55 since the start of the week.

Melbourne v Gold Coast

This is the one punters have jumped on – Gold Coast are the best backed team of the round. For every dollar coming for Melbourne ($2.95) we are taking $17 on the Suns ($1.40).

Brisbane v Collingwood

Punters don’t want anything to do with Collingwood who are out to $2.40. This will be the first time in over 5 years that the Lions will start favourites against them, into $1.57.

Western Bulldogs v West Coast

The Dogs could be value at $2.60 off their NAB Challenge form, but punters aren’t biting and are sticking with the Eagles at $1.60.

St Kilda v GWS

Punters are tipping St Kilda’s season will get off to the worst possible start, with triple the money on the Giants at $1.36.

Adelaide v North Melbourne

An upset could be on the cards, with more money coming for the Kangaroos despite being $2.35 outsiders – the Crows $1.65 favourites.

Fremantle v Port Adelaide

This looms as the tightest match on paper but punters disagree, with triple the money coming for Port Adelaide at $2.05 compared to the home town Dockers at $1.77.

Hawthorn v Geelong

Punters think the Kennett Curse is long dead, double the money coming for the Hawks at $1.38 with the Cats drifting out to $3.05.

“Whether Gaz plays or not, punters are keen on the Suns and they are the best backed team this week while Port and the Roos are tipped to cause upsets,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
