AFL player Simpkin hurt after drinking

North Melbourne player Jy Simpkin is on a self-imposed booze ban until at least the end of the AFL season after he was hit by motorcyclist.

The day after Collingwood banned Jordan de Goey indefinitely for his drink-driving offence, North have revealed that Simpkin had been drinking when he stepped out in front of the motorcyclist.

Simpkin hurt his ankle in the accident, sidelining him for two to four weeks and he will face police charges.
