Melbourne ascended to premiership favouritism with its thrilling final-round win over Geelong and two Demons are among four players who share the $11 top line in TAB’s Norm Smith Medal market.

Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca head betting, along with Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield and Port Adelaide’s Ollie Wines, in the market that was released this morning.

Saturday night’s hero Max Gawn and Geelong’s Cameron Guthrie occupy the $13 second line, with Tom Hawkins at $15 alongside Jarryd Lyons, who is considered the Brisbane Lions’ best hope.

Marcus Bontempelli is the shortest-priced Bulldog at $21, Lance Franklin is Sydney’s leading hope at $41, Toby Greene ($51) is considered GWS’s best chance with dynamic midfield duo Zac Merrett and Darcy Parish the leading Bombers at $67.

Bontempelli was displaced as Brownlow favourite by Wines on Friday with Oliver and Jack Steele strengthening their case over the weekend. Oliver was $7.50 into $4.50 after a best-afield display with Steele $11 into $9 after starring for the Saints. Wines heads betting at $2.75 with Bontempelli $3.25.
