AFL MRP clears Fyfe, bans Hodge for two

Fremantle star Nat Fyfe is in the clear but Hawthorn skipper Luke Hodge has been slapped with a two-match ban for his bump on Port Adelaide’s Chad Wingard.

Fyfe, the hot Brownlow Medal favourite, remains eligible to win the game’s highest individual honour after the match review panel found there was insufficient forceful contact in his high front-on bump on North Melbourne’s Ben Jacobs to warrant a report.

Hodge’s action, where he appeared to sandwich Wingard’s head between a point post and his hip, was deemed rough conduct, with his sanction impacted by his bad record.
