The AFL commission’s chairman Mike Fitzpatrick is set to hold a news conference on Monday afternoon to address the topic of fixturing on Good Friday.

Several clubs including Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne have been pushing the league to introduce football on the religious holiday, in line with other major sports including the NRL.

Fitzpatrick’s media conference will follow Monday’s meeting of the AFL commission.
