AFL Magpies says Thomas’ account hacked

Collingwood AFL player Dale Thomas has said on Twitter he is leaving the club, but the Magpies say the midfielder’s account has been hacked.

Thomas’ account tweeted on Wednesday: “thanks for the good times pies, decieded (sic) today that im not going to be here next year #futureandbeyond #carnnorrff #oobars”

But a club spokesman told AAP: “Daisy (Thomas) knew nothing about it. He’s been hacked.”

Hawthorn star Lance Franklin on Tuesday had his Instagram site hacked into, resulting in a fake admission that he had joined Greater Western Sydney.

A photo of the GWS logo appeared on his social networking account with the caption: “My soon to be new home”.

Hashtags including #moneyoverloyalty, #byealistair and #upthegiants were used in conjunction with it.

The photo attracted more than 1400 likes before it was deleted.
