AFL Magpies’ Pendlebury still on sidelines

Star Collingwood midfielder Scott Pendlebury faces another two weeks on the sidelines with a cracked tibia, the AFL club said on Monday.

However the third-placed Magpies could regain halfback Heath Shaw (calf) and key defender Ben Reid (quadricep) for Saturday’s clash with competition leaders West Coast at the MCG.

Collingwood posted an updated injury list on their website on Monday, saying Reid and Shaw would face tests while Pendlebury would be out of action for two weeks.

Pendlebury was injured in round 10 against Gold Coast and the 2011 club champion missed the Magpies’ win against Melbourne on June 11.

The 24-year-old had been hopeful of returning after last week’s bye.

“We are going to get a re-scan after the break, and hopefully I can get out there,” he said before the Melbourne game.

Pendlebury also appears set to miss Collingwood’s clash with Fremantle at the MCG on June 30.

Two-time All-Australian Alan Didak (groin) is also listed as being two weeks away from returning to action.
