Preview:

Port Adelaide play Hawthorn on Saturday, 1.15pm at AAMI Stadium. The Hawks will be favourites to win this one, having suffered just two losses this season, one of
which was last round. The Power were also on the wrong side of the score sheet last week against the Bombers, although they have been part of some great matches
over the last month. While this has potential to be a very close contest, the Power will want to bring their A-game if they want to compete with a Hawks side in great
form. Cyril Rioli had a successful return as a sub for Hawthorn last week, and most people are expecting him to start this match.

Rioli hopes Hawks’ Franklin also re-signs

Cyril Rioli hopes his long-term commitment to Hawthorn will help convince Lance Franklin to do the same at the AFL club.

Rioli has signed a three-year extension to his contract, which was not due to expire until next year.

The pair are friends and Rioli would be rapt if his new deal helped steer Franklin towards staying.

There is massive speculation over Franklin’s future after he decided to put off talks with the club until the end of the season, when he becomes a restricted free agent.

Greater Western Sydney want to lure Franklin north, although his manager Liam Pickering said on the weekend he was confident the star forward would not leave the Hawks.

“I’ve played a lot of footy with ‘Buddy’, so hopefully now that I’ve re-signed, he might,” Rioli said.

“But that’s up to him.”

Rioli returned to the team in Saturday night’s win over Geelong after suffering a hamstring injury in round nine.

He said signing the contract extension was a “no-brainer”.
