AFL flag fancies Crows train on Gold Coast

The Adelaide Crows are training on the Gold Coast with vice-captain Rory Sloane rated a certain inclusion for their home AFL preliminary final.

The Crows squad is spending a couple of days in Queensland, returning to Adelaide on Tuesday ahead of their weekend off.

Sloane (appendix) missed a 36-point qualifying final win against Greater Western Sydney, with the Crows to host either Geelong or Sydney in a preliminary final.

Sloane is a likely straight swap for Brodie Smith, who requires a knee reconstruction after being injured early in the win over the Giants.

The Crows have three players out for the season – rookies Jordan Gallucci (jaw) and Elliott Himmelberg (foot) and midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen (knee).

Adelaide’s All Australian midfielder Matt Crouch has set a club record for most disposals – he had 31 disposals against GWS for 757 overall, 20 more than Scott Thompson in 2012.

Crouch has collected 30 or more touches in 16 games this season.
