The AFL has fined the Western Bulldogs $5000 for their late player change before last Sunday’s loss to Richmond.
The Bulldogs brought in Tom Campbell from outside their three listed emergencies to replace Ayce Cordy, who was ruled out with back tightness.
Half the total fine of $10,000 was suspended.
The league said the Bulldogs cooperated fully, but a fine was still warranted.
“The rules were in place so that no club may gain a tactical advantage over another club around the naming of their side for a particular match,” the AFL said in a statement.
