AFL Eagles still sweating on Lycett injury

West Coast coach Adam Simpson is yet to learn how serious Scott Lycett’s shoulder injury is, saying the ruckman could miss between two to 20 weeks.

Lycett dislocated his left shoulder while playing a WAFL practice match over the weekend.

Simpson is hopeful Lycett won’t need a shoulder reconstruction, but said the club would need to wait for further scans before determining a course of action.

“I’ve been waiting by the phone,” Simpson said on Tuesday.

“Initial X-rays say that he’s OK in terms of bone damage, now it’s the rest of the shoulder that we’ve got to look at.

“We don’t know, it could be two weeks, it could be 20. We’ll find out today.

“We know he’s not going to be available for round one.”
