AFL Bulldogs’ Morris suffers leg fracture

Western Bulldogs AFL premiership hero Dale Morris has a leg fracture that could put him out of action for two months.

Veteran Morris suffered a spiral fracture with less than a minute left in Friday night’s round-one win over Collingwood.

Scans on Saturday revealed the extent of the damage and the Bulldogs will comment officially on Monday afternoon.

It continues the wretched injury luck that the Bulldogs overcame to win last year’s flag.

Morris is renowned as one of the AFL’s toughest competitors and he played through the finals series last year with a fractured vertebrae.

The 34-year-old is a crucial loss, particularly ahead of Friday night’s grand final rematch against Sydney at Etihad Stadium.

Morris – who has played 230 senior games since his 2005 debut – would have been one of the Bulldogs defenders matching up on Swans star Lance Franklin.
