Adelaide are searching for their second win from the past seven weeks but will not find it easy up against competition front-runners, Geelong.
Last week against Collingwood, the Crows began well and established a 20 point lead at the first change but, despite a brief comeback late in the third and early in the fourth quarter, Collingwood controlled the rest of the game and recorded a 27 point victory.
It continued a worrying trend for Adelaide where they fall away in the second half of the match, the final quarter particularly and against a ruthless Cats outfit, they’ll need to submit a complete effort here to be competitive.
After a shock loss to Brisbane – their second for the season, the Cats have won their past three over Fremantle, Hawthorne and last week, a comfortable 68 point win over Melbourne.
Surprisingly, Adelaide have won two of the last five clashes between the two sides since 2010 with the latest encounter resulting in a 27 point win to the Cats in round 18 last year.
A similar line has been established for this game (Geelong -28.5) however, the distance and stats between the two sides has widened this year and would think the current and respective form of both sides, would mean Geelong can cover the spread.
TIP: GEELONG -28.5
