Gold Coast captain Gary Ablett has urged off-contract pair Jaeger O’Meara and Dion Prestia to stay with him at the Suns.
O’Meara played his first half of football for 15 months in the AFL club’s reserves on Saturday but he and Prestia are being linked with moves to a Melbourne club as their contract talks with the Suns drag on.
Ablett, who is contracted until the end of 2018, says he’s spoken to both players and admits the pair are a “big part of this football club”.
