Gary Ablett is facing suspension for the first time in his decorated AFL career after being sanctioned for striking Essendon onballer Dylan Shiel.
Match review officer Michael Christian has handed Ablett a one-game ban for the incident in Sunday’s game at the MCG.
The Cats will almost certainly front the tribunal on Tuesday night to challenge the sanction, with Ablett having otherwise maintained a clean record in his 328-game career.
