The Crows headed into last week’s clash against the Sydney Swans has favourites given their current form and fantastic home record however, it was the visitors who dominated early and made the most of their chances securing victory by 29 points. Courtesy of a solid season that saw them finish in the top four, the Crows have the opportunity this week to remedy last week’s errors the most noticeable being their uncharacteristic poor form in front of goals. The Crows only kicked five majors, with twelve behinds. In fact they had more scoring shots than Sydney (11.5). The Dockers could not have been more impressive last week turning in their best performance of the season when eliminated defending Premiers Geelong by 16 points and in the process, recording the club’s third finals victory and the first away from home. That will be an enormous confidence booster for the Dockers heading into this week’s clash.

Adelaide have gotten the better of Freo on the both occasions the two sides have met this year, winning by 29 points in Round 10 and 28 points in Round 20. They’ll appreciate the second bit of the footy finals cherry this week and having only lost two games at home this season, it’s hard to seeing them losing a third given what is at stake and their performances throughout the year. The Dockers will have to produce again – and travel again and that may take its toll. They were led brilliantly by Captain Matthew Pavlich who kicked six of Freo’s fourteen majors but fancy he’ll need support this week. Dockers start like they did last week, there is no reason why they won’t give this a shake but the Crows will have learnt a lot last week, remain at home and have produced more week than not this year, can’t see them posting two average efforts in as many weeks.
