Victoria have been set 325 for victory off 79 overs in their must win Sheffield Shield clash against Queensland at an overcast Gabba on Wednesday.
Queensland resumed on the final day at 2-208 and smashed 4-105 within an hour before declaring their second innings at 6-313 when Chris Lynn was dismissed for 60 off 48 balls.
The Bulls’ whirlwind batting display reached a crescendo in what became the final over of their innings when Lynn crunched 22 off five balls before being bowled by Aaron Finch.
Lynn hit six fours and two sixes – both off Finch’s final over.
Lynn was supported by Peter Forrest (32 off 23).
Queensland wanted quick runs from the outset on Wednesday and the Bushrangers appeared happy to help, using part-timers Finch (1-48 off five overs), David Hussey (2-25 off four) and even wicketkeeper Matt Wade (1-23 off four).
The Bulls innings was set up by a 193-run opening partnership by Joe Burns (102) and Luke Pomersbach (85) – their second century stand of the match.
