With five runners from the 2013 Melbourne Cup contesting Sunday’s Group 1 Hong Kong Vase, Sportingbet has released odds for which of the Cup runners will be first past the post in the Sha Tin feature.
Sportingbet has made Red Cadeaux and Dandino $3.30 equal favourites to be the best placed of the Melbourne Cup runners, ahead of Mount Athos at $4.10, Dunaden at $6.00 and Simenon at $7.50.
“Red Cadeaux ran a brilliant second in the Melbourne Cup and won this race last year so deserves to be the pick of the Cup runners, but you can’t dismiss Dandino after superb runs in both the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
The Fugue, owned by British composer Andrew Lloyd-Webber, is a $2.65 favourite at Sportingbet to win the race ahead of Red Cadeaux and Dandino, both at $7.
