Tipsarevic shock loss at Colombian tennis

Top-seeded Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia suffered a shock quarter-final loss on Friday at the Claro Open tennis tournament in the Colombian capital Bogota.

Local player Alejandro Falla beat Tipsarevic 3-6 6-2 6-3 to set up a semi-final against

Canada’s Vasek Pospisil, who accounted for Italian Matteo Viola 3-6 6-3 6-2.

Second-seeded Kevin Anderson of South Africa advanced to the last four, beating No.6 seed Santiago Giraldo of Colombia 6-3 6-3.

Anderson will face Croatian Ivo Karlovic, a 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (7-3) winner over fifth-seeded Adrian Mannarino of France in the hardcourt tournament at Centro de Alto Rendimiento.
