The last match of the round is between the Brisbane Broncos and Wests Tigers, kicking off on Monday night, 2.00pm at Suncorp Stadium. Both teams are doing it tough at the moment, and Brisbane are even hard to back at home after not winning a game in a month. To be fair though, the Tigers have not been performing much better, although they have won their last two matches and will be keen to get a Broncos scalp away from home.

Pride will spark Broncos fight; Hodges
Pride in the Broncos jersey – not who is wearing it – will spark Brisbane’s NRL revival, veteran centre Justin Hodges says.
Pressure is mounting on Brisbane’s hierarchy to open the cheque book and pursue a big-name player as the 2013 model remains on track to become just the third Brisbane team to miss the finals in 25 years.
Coach Anthony Griffin is feeling the heat after the six-time premiers slid to 11th on the NRL ladder, conceding 86 points in their past two games.
Hodges conceded their form – or lack thereof – was unacceptable but believed all the tools for a Brisbane turnaround were already at their disposal.
“I wouldn’t change anyone in the side. We just need to fight our way out,” he said.
Asked if the Broncos had lost their aura, Hodges said: “Maybe a little bit.
“But we’ve got a great squad.
“And we are a proud club. We always like to be high up on the ladder.
“But at the moment, things aren’t going our way and we need to get back to basics and play for each other – if we do that, we will be fine.”
The likes of Broncos great Steve Renouf have recently urged Brisbane’s administration to look to the future and lure a star playmaker – especially with Corey Norman bound for Parramatta at the end of the season.
However, Hodges said a nod to the past was all that was needed to fire up his Broncos.
“We know how proud the club is, the history of it and the players who have been here before us who wore their jersey with pride,” he said.
“That’s what we are trying to create here.
“But it takes time.
“It’s hard. Everyone compares us to the great teams of the Broncos.
“But this is our time.
“Hopefully, 10 years down the track, we can look back and hopefully have done the club justice.”
Brisbane (5-8 record) will host Wests Tigers on Monday as one of the worst defensive teams in the NRL.
Apart from an overall minus 23 points differential, Brisbane are the worst in the league for missed tackles (415).
“We can put points on but our defence is letting us down,” Hodges said.
“We just need to dig in for each other – that starts on Monday night.”
