NZ 2-62 in reply to England’s 354 all out

New Zealand have gone to lunch at 2-62 in reply to England’s first innings 354 on the third day of the second Test in Leeds.

Kane Williamson was four not out and Ross Taylor nought not out after England fast bowler Steven Finn took 2-1 in 16 balls to remove openers Peter Fulton and Hamish Rutherford.

Earlier, left-arm quick Trent Boult took 5-57 as England, 7-337 overnight, only survived five overs on Sunday.

All of Boult’s wickets came in a new-ball spell starting on Saturday of 5-24 in seven overs.

England’s total featured Joe Root’s maiden Test hundred. Root’s 104 made him the first Yorkshire batsman to score his first Test century on his Headingley home ground.

England lead the two-match series 1-0 after their crushing 170-run win in the first Test at Lord’s last week.
