Lynn tweets on Te’o assault claims

Queensland batsman Chris Lynn could find himself in hot water after

using Twitter to opine about assault allegations levelled against NRL player Ben Te’o.

Te’o released a statement on Wednesday saying he had not “acted improperly” after a Brisbane woman said she was left bleeding and abandoned with a fractured eye socket from an alleged assault by the South Sydney’s player.

Lynn then posted three messages on Twitter concerning the woman and discrediting her allegations, before deleting them.

A Queensland Cricket spokesman confirmed it was investigating the matter.

Lynn is a fluent stroke player, who has played in the Indian Premier League and made a first-class century at the age of 19.

The 23-year-old’s gaffe follows David Warner’s expletive-laden Twitter rant against News Ltd journalists Robert Craddock and Malcolm Conn.

Warner was fined $5750 by Cricket Australia (CA) and expressed remorse on Thursday.

Given Lynn is not a CA contracted player, any sanction would be handed out by his state organisation.
